is quite simply to make languages accessible to everyone!
The national curriculum for maintained schools in the UK stipulates that the teaching of a foreign language is required from Key Stage 2 and although primary schools are doing their best to offer their students a good language learning experience they often do not have the in-house expertise.
Tight budgets can also mean that some primary schools are simply unable to pay for a qualified MFL teacher to deliver languages in their school and so the classroom teacher must do their best to help children learn a foreign language.
In whatever way I reasonably can I aim to support primary schools to deliver high-quality MFL lessons whether that is by teaching in primary schools myself, delivering CPD or by offering delivering themed workshops (such as the successful Very Hungry Caterpillar workshops that took place in January) as often as possible I will work hard to ensure that the younger learners are receiving their entitlement at the MOST important age!
