About Saddleworth Language School
Saddleworth Language School was established in 2023 and is the lifelong dream and passion of founder Samantha Doodson. Samantha knows first-hand how important it is to introduce children to foreign languages from the youngest possible age — and this remains the guiding mission of Saddleworth Language School.
Today, the business focuses on three core areas:
🌟 LingoSports — a unique holiday club combining sports and languages
🌟 Evening classes — fun and friendly French and Spanish courses for adults
🌟 Before and after school clubs — bringing language learning to primary schools across the area
Samantha studied French and German at the University of Lancaster, followed by a PGCE in Secondary MFL Teaching at Sheffield Hallam University and a PGCert in Expert Teaching in 2019. With over 15 years’ experience teaching French, German and Spanish in UK secondary and primary schools, Samantha brings expertise, energy and enthusiasm to every aspect of the school.
In early 2023, Samantha set out to make language learning accessible, engaging, and fun for all, especially for the youngest learners — and Saddleworth Language School was born.
Adult Classes
Saddleworth Language School offers a number of weekly adult classes , held at Delph Primary School. Classes are taught by Sam and Chris. If you would like information about our next course starting in September please navigate to the relevant section of the website.
LingoSports
Saddleworth Language School runs an Ofsted registered sports and languages themed school holiday club - LingoSports for children age 3 to 11. We pride ourselves on being teacher-led, active, vibrant and educational. Children tell us that they LOVE spending time at LingoSports and this is evident in the number of repeat bookings we have.
School Clubs
Saddleworth Language School offers a number of before and after school clubs in local primary schools. If your child's school offers one of these clubs then you are likely already aware of it, but if you would like to see a French or Spanish club at your child's school in the future then please do let me know and I will liaise with the school to see if we can collaborate. MFL Solutions
With extensive experience in MFL education at primary and secondary school level Saddleworth Language School offers bespoke consultancy to nursery, primary and secondary schools e.g. staff MFL CPD, curriculum writing, Ofsted consultancy and MFL teaching.
Mr Learmont of Lydgate St Anne's Primary School recently wrote 'I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your staff meeting content yesterday. All participants enjoyed the session and certainly took away lots of ideas!'
